Me And The Major

A chuckle of amusement came from the figure sitting at the fireplace. The room was certainly a cozy one. It was full of warm-coloured rugs and wooden bookcases filled with some serious looking first edition books. Everything about the room just screamed class and warmth. Which was a good thing, since Cable was cold this time of the year.

The person sitting in the big leather chair kept laughing as they recalled the telephone conversation they had just had with some underlings. It appeared that the shit was hitting the fans in Cable ever since they had killed Dr. Jeffrey Fishbait (or as he was commonly referred to as - the lentil dude). They expected that Sgt. Amber Sandles would suddenly go on the wrong track once the investigation started, but they were not expecting the events that followed to happen, the vampires threw an interesting twist into the woodwork of their great plan by claiming responsibility for the murder of Fishbait. But that was going to work out for them.

The plan was flexible, that's what made it such a good plan. It could withstand the randomness of human and vampire action. There was no way to prepare for such eventualities - no one could have seen what actually unfolded, but the plan was a good one. It could accommodate a vampire war. That was for sure, hell, it probably made things a little easier.

The phone rung again, the person that killed Dr. Jeffrey Fishbait who was sitting in the big leather chair by the fire picked up the portable phone and pressed the button with the little phone icon on.

"Good evening"

He listened for a little while.

"That is correct. Phase two of the plan will be put into action tomorrow."

He listened for a little while longer.

"Great. We are going to have some fun. Sleep well."

He put the phone down and stared into the fireplace and let out a little laughter. Good times.
